Wendi Walcer - Nurse Practitioner


Wendi Walcer is an Adult Nurse Practitioner who completed her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Alberta in 1992. She lived in Texas for many years and worked as an RN within the specialty of a Labor & Delivery unit. She obtained her Masters in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Texas Health Science Centre at Houston in 2007. Wendi has a special interest in obstetrics and gynecology and enjoys promoting women’s health. She started as a locum NP with CVFP during the fall of 2011; and has had the opportunity to expand her scope of NP practice to adult primary care. Wendi enjoys swimming, downhill skiing, golf and spending time with her husband, son and daughter. 

Esmond Wong - Primary Care Pharmacist

 Esmond Wong graduated from the University of Alberta in 2006. He has practiced pharmacy at Safeway, the Peter Lougheed Center and now with the Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network. At the PLC Esmond practiced on the psychiatry wards and has an interest in mental health. He achieved his Certified Diabetes Educator credential in 2010 and is working in his Certified Insulin Pump Trainer credential. Esmond can prescribe medications and refill presciptions. He is also authorized to inject medication such as flu shots, pneumovax vaccine and many others.  Currently he is very active in diabetes care and education. He is a member of the Diabetes Educator Section and a committee member of the Annual Calgary Diabets Symposium that educates health profesionals on the latest news in diabetes care. He also created and runs Diabetes Study Group at the CFPCN to help other health care professionals achieve their CDE credential. In his spare time Esmond is active in his church and likes travelling (he has travelled to Europe, Asia and Isreal), trying new restaurants and reading biographies.

Amy Pham - Clinical Pharmacist

Amy Pham was born in Clinton, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto in 2006. She then moved to Calgary to complete a 1 year Hospital Residency Program with the Calgary Health Region. During this year she found her passion for Cardiovascular Health.  She has practiced at the Peter Lougheed Centre, and worked on the Cardiovascular and Cardiac Critical Care units, prior to joining the Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network. She has prescribing privileges and is able to prescribe and refill medications. She also has authorization to administer injectable medications. Lastly, she has achieved her Certified Diabetes Educator credentials in 2011 and enjoys participating in the care and education of diabetic patients. In her spare time, Amy enjoys travelling, reading, trying new recipes, movies, hiking and playing tennis with her husband.
