Helping patients understand and adopt behaviours which keep the aging brain healthy
CVFP’s Brain Health Program
CVFP is launching a 'Brain Health' program focussed on Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The goal is to help patients understand and adopt behaviors which keep the aging brain healthy, preventing dementia.
Why Brain Health?
CVFP’s Brain Health program is guided by new evidence indicating that individuals can maintain their brain health through proactive measures. Our Health Team encourages you and your family to learn more about dementia risk reduction.

An Ounce of Prevention
It has been estimated that 12 risk factors that can often be managed and reduced could explain 40% of cases of dementia globally. This highlights the importance of raising awareness about these factors that range from hearing and vision, smoking, diet, and social interaction to chronic conditions like hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes.
12 Risk Factors
One Step at a Time
Choose one risk factor that you can change or improve such as getting good restful sleep or having a healthier, more balanced diet. Engaging in these healthy behaviours can help reduce the risk of dementia and delay the onset of symptoms, improving your quality of life as you age.
